Hello 👋 , and welcome to the blog income report: November 2023 edition.

The numbers have definitely taken a nosedive and are going back to the usual range after my viral pin moments.

You might’ve thought I’ve stopped posting income reports since I’ve not posted in the last few days, and the numbers didn’t really give me the incentive to post this, but you know what, I’m publishing it anyway (after much stalling)

Am I sad? Noooooo
Happy that it happened (the surge)? Most definitely

Some growth >>> stagnation

Also, it got me extra income, so I’m not complaining.

I mean, I was aware that what goes up comes down eventually, especially if you don’t put enough effort into retaining it.

Also, the fact that my travel plans didn’t allow me enough time or opportunity to stay consistent, and this exact reason might also affect my income for December 2023.

Still, kudos to Pinterest for that extra large slice of traffic I received so unexpectedly.

Now, once again, I got reminded of the potential of platforms such as Pinterest & Facebook and how good they are in fetching you good traffic, especially when Google is acting like a teenage kid with erratic mood swings (smh).

While I received hundreds of thousands of EXTRA traffic from Pinterest during my peak months (jul-sep), I noticed some fellow bloggers sharing their wins with Facebook to attain blog traffic.

Reading all that really tempted me to shift my focus to getting social traffic and giving up on SEO altogether.

Will be discussing more on that in the Traffic section…

Mediavine income dropped as a result of the decline in overall blog traffic.

The average RPM for November was around $85

Either way, I am more surprised by the affiliate income of my first affiliate program, which is quite a bump from last month.

Traffic Stats:

Gone are the days (September) when the traffic was at its peak (around 270k sessions) and now has come down to 145k,

Nothing surprising; it was expected to come down mostly because 270,000 sessions in a month is not at all justified for a blog having merely 68 blog posts (at the time of writing)

There isn’t much happening in terms of writing or even updation of blog content lately, but one bonus upside of traveling and owning a baby travel website is to be able to garner content for the same.

p.s. I’ll be posting a mega article titled “2023 year in review” within a day or two, encompassing all the major happenings of 2023, as one might expect.

Do keep an eye out as this blog post might be a little underwhelming to read, I realize, but the “year-in-review” article will compensate for it.
