Blogging Basics You Need to Know to Start Blogging
Whether you’re thinking about starting your very own blog or you might have already started it, there’s a bit of a learning curve to it which can be intimidating for beginners like yourself.
I’ve been in your shoes, and I have gone through the learning curve and challenges that come with starting something and not knowing its ABCs.
This is exactly why I’ve carefully prepared this piece of content to ease you into the blogging world that will eventually lead you to make a good income from your blog.
If you have not started your blog already, here’s a step-by-step guide to get you going within 10 minutes.
What exactly is a blog?
You might already have a pretty good idea about what a blog is. It is a website that contains blog posts about a certain or wide variety of topics.
Am I late to the “starting a blog” party?
As a beginner, you might have some questions:
- People have been blogging for quite a while now, isn’t it too late for anyone to get any success since there are already well-established blogs that are far better than my blog?
- Since there are millions of blogs in the world, isn’t the competition insane?
- I don’t even have expertise in anything, why would people even want to read my blog?
Well, before answering your questions, let me tell you that this exactly was my mindset before I started my own blog back in 2018.
Firstly, Blogging is not a fad or a trend that will die down in the coming years, blogging is and will be relevant for decades to come.
It’s the constant uprising of new creators/ bloggers (you) that keeps the content industry relevant and at times shines new perspectives on the same ideas. This is why you have the same opportunity to build an audience as the rest of the creators (even the well-established ones)
Why bother starting a blog at all?
One might think that what’s the big deal about having a blog? I mean, you work on your blog and you get paid, just like any other job or small-scale business? Why is it so hyped?
The key benefits of starting a blog are:
- High money-making potential
- Beginner-friendly
- Helps Kickstarting a Business
- Bringing New Clients to Existing Business
- Gaining Online Exposure
- Sharing your Knowledge/ Expressing Yourself
- Building an Audience
- Making a Difference
Blogging is one of the few income options that does not limit your ability to make money, rather it opens new avenues to create additional income streams (such as online courses, YouTube subs, paid consulting, etc) apart from your direct blog income. And as your blog readership grows, your income follows the same trajectory (sometimes exponentially).
And it isn’t always about the money, but the freedom that comes with it. The freedom to make your own rules, set your own schedule, make all the decisions, and keep 100% of the profits.
